The flow of the pictures along with the relevance of the pictures was very well executed.I think it would be a really cool aspect to have in school to where kids could make their own digital story in the classroom. The only fear I would have with this in the classroom is that it could get boring for the students to have to listen to if a teacher was to implement this into a classroom. All in all I think this is a good idea to use in the classroom, I believe that new things are always good to use and liven up the classroom setting if executed effectively.

So, I really miss my baby right now. It is strange how when they are right there you seem to get lost in it all and not realize what is really going on. In the quest for the right words, I feel like I just end up sounding like an idiot. He does not talk a lot and I talk too much so it is hard to judge how he feels at times or where his mind is at until he looks at me and this gentleness spreads across his face and the corners of his eyes wrinkle up. I have to admit that while I am trying my best to stay mellow while he is gone part of me really just wants to kiss him and smell him and let him fall asleep on my chest.

Here I sit, on my last night Wednesday night as the Reflector editor. I’ll admit that I’m excited, not because I won’t miss the job, but because I won’t miss the late nights.When I started at the Reflector in August, we had just made the shift to becoming a weekly publication. The Reflector began over 50 years ago as a yearbook, and as the University grew became a magazine, publishing seasonally, monthly, then eventually moved to weekly. But boy, did we have fun watching our friends chase the ball and get excited after simple catches.Then there was the week from Hell, where we had to put together two Reflectors in one week. Beginning next week, I take over as Executive Editor for Student Media, which puts me over not only the Reflector, but the George-Anne and Miscellany as well.Sure, I’ll miss the fun stuff that magazine work brings, but the pursuit of news and campus happenings will more than fill my appetite. We ended up just spending about 30 minutes in the hot tub then we came back up to our room and washed the chlorine off.We hung out in the room for a while then the kids took a 2 hour nap! I am going to be working with someone I have just started getting to know pretty well and I'm really looking forward to tackling a project together. We're going to find a caterer, decorate, do invitations and hopefully we can come up with a favor to send home with everyone.We went out to eat at Spaghetti Warehouse tonight since we had a coupon. I can't just hand him my debit card and ask him to give it back later.

But to make things a little bit easier to find, I put them into folders by term (4 month stretch), and in those folders I have optional subfolders by the batch of photos - like "Lindsay's Birthday"The archive allays my fears of deleting a photo I might value later, gives me a resource if I feel like wallowing in plentiful images from a particular time in my life, and lets me indulge the fantasy that someday something in the corner of one of my photos may be needed in a criminal investigation, like in Blow Up. Here are the processes for my system:- Over a term, collect all the photos that come my way to the archive.- When the term is over, actually a few months after its over so that those last few photos come in, start going through the archive for that term and select the photos.- Every year or so, have the souvenir photos for that year printed and mailed to me. So 2 years will fit in a 300 photo album.- When the photo archive gets to be the size of a DVD, burn it and delete from hard drive.That last point was the key to my system, when I realized that my whole enormous glut of photos from my camera over 2 years was only about 3 gigs.

There is no place like home: Back Porch~All Cleaned Up

Flash forward five days, September 6, yours truly is driving down TheFive to Anaheim to help out with an executive PowerPoint presentation when a rock kicks up from the road, hits the windshield of the aforementioned six-day-old vehicle and cracks the windshield. As yours truly looks on in disbelief as the small thumb-sized crack has spread to more than a foot in length, the friendly repairman explains that this is typical in newer Japanese manufactured cars…is this his passive aggressive way of telling me I should have bought American? And my windshield is cracked, again, and I’m just thinking that I should accept the fact that maybe fate is telling me a little crack in my life wouldn’t hurt.

 We got to work by putting everything away, organizing the gardening tools and moving the furniture out onto the lawn.We even pulled up the old carpet!Phillip spent Saturday morning putting down the new carpet.It's always a big job because of the odd shape of our patio.When it was finished, we moved the furniture back.This shelf used to be black, but I gave it a quick coat of cream spray paint.
